Heroic Flourishes: Music for Brass & Organ to Raise the Roof! This is a concert for brass ensemble, percussion & organ at St. Ann & The Holy Trinity Church. The performance includes works for brass & organ by Franck, Monnikendam, Dupre, and Mulet, and a few organ solos played on the historic Skinner pipe organ by organist Gregory Eaton. The event is part of the church's Raise the Roof! fundraising campaign to repair the roof of this historic architectural treasure. The church is in Brooklyn Heights at the corner of Clinton and Montague Streets, easy to reach by any of the following subway lines: 2, 3, 4, 5, M, R and not too far from the A, C and F trains, too. The "tickets" are by donation, and the suggested donation is $25, or $20 for students & seniors. It'll be a blast! "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" - a concert with the famed Altino Brothers and their massive "Altino Brothers Chorale." If you like gospel music and very fancy presentations of church hymns, this is the concert for you. The Altino Brothers' Chorale is over 100 voices strong, and will be combined with the Alexandria First Presbyterian Chancel Choir. The brothers themselves are both virtuoso pianists and inspiring performers, and the ensemble for this concert is a good one. I'll be playing trumpet in the orchestra. The concert is at the First Presbyterian Church in Washington, NJ, and is FREE. Doors open at 3:30. More information is on the "concerts" page on the Altino Brothers website.
